Donations Sought for Staff Appreciation Week

Thrive Community Services will host Staff Appreciation Week September 11th – 15th. This week is also nationally recognized as “DSP Week” – a week to celebrate the work and dedication of Direct Support Professionals.

A Direct Support Professional (DSP) is someone who works directly with people who have intellectual or developmental disabilities. A DSP’s main goal is to enable a person to live independently and engage in their community. Around 80% of the staff at Thrive are DSP’s.

Our goal for the week is to celebrate all team members – DSP’s, drivers, support services, maintenance and cleaning, health care and administrative services.

We invite businesses and community members to help us show appreciation to our staff. Coffee, ice cream, desserts, spa services, car detailing/wash, nail or hair salon services, gardening, plant supplies, candles, lotions, tool kits, door dash, meals and local experiences are greatly appreciated.

Items needed for themed day celebrations are candy, desserts, popsicles, popcorn, supplies for nacho bar, hot cocoa, treats, snacks.

Donations can be dropped off at Thrive Community Services in Galesburg at 2015 Windish Dr, Abingdon at 405 S Western Ave or the Hub at 143 E Main in downtown Galesburg. Monetary donations are accepted through thrivegalesburg.org/donate.

For questions or more information please contact Director of Development Dylana Larson dlarson@thrivegalesburg.org or 309-344-2600 ext 204.
