Rummage Sale, Lemonade Stand & Lunch Fundraiser Friday July 28

The team at Gordon Behrents Senior Center is gearing up for a rummage sale, lemonade stand and hotdog lunch fundraiser this Friday, July 28 from 8am – 1pm in the parking lot of Thrive Community Services, located at 2015 Windish Drive in Galesburg.


The proceeds will go towards the Gordon Behrents Senior Center Walk for Alzheimer’s team. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is a cause that is important to the Gordon Behrents team. “Some of the participants that we work with are dealing with dementia and Alzheimer’s,” shares Teresa, Gordon Behrents staff member, “when you see how Alzheimer’s affects people, it becomes personal to you. That is why our staff put a team together for the walk at Lake Storey September 23.”


The Rummage sale items will be for free will donation - pay what you can. The team is currently seeking donations of items to be sold at the sale. Items can be dropped off at Gordon Behrents Senior Center 7:30am – 4pm daily until Friday morning. Household items, kitchen gadgets, small shelving and knick-knacks is what the team is looking for currently. Items not sold will be donated to the Purple Hanger in Galesburg.


Lunch will be available 11am – 1pm. A suggested donation of $5 and includes 2 hotdogs, bag of chips and lemonade drink.


Gordon Behrents Senior Center provides adult day services to persons 60 and over or those with specific needs. During the Monday – Friday 9:30am – 2:30pm 5 hour program, participants enjoy fun memory based activities, light exercise, arts & crafts and games geared toward their needs.​
