Gordon Behrents Senior Center enrollment for 2024 is now open! Our program’s goal is to help loved ones remain independent for as long as possible and serves seniors 60+ or with a qualifying diagnosis.
During the weekday 5-hour program, participants enjoy fun memory-based activities, light exercise, arts & crafts and games geared toward their needs. The smell of home hits you when you walk in the door, as the homestyle meal is cooked each day. Whether your loved one plans to visit a few times a week or all 5 days, attendance can be set up to meet the needs of your family.
In between the socialization and fun, our fully trained staff are ready to assist with daily activities such as showering, grooming and personal care. It is a much-needed respite knowing your loved one is in a safe, nurturing environment for the day.
Our specially-equipped transportation fleet - including lift vehicles - offer pick up and drop off services such as in-town doctor’s appointments on days of attendance. Restrictions apply.
Private pay is available, although many participants qualify for funding through programs such as the Illinois Department on Aging, Office of Rehabilitation, Veterans Administration and WIAAA.
